Who is Peace?

Peace: she is a calm and serene.
She whispers every word,
just loud enough to be heard.

Every breath she takes makes
anger, frustration, and revenge disappear.
Her words are clear.

Peace screams aloud, across the crowd.
She fights for her words to spread.
Her thoughts fill our bottomless heads.

We strive for her perfection,
Her grace-
And the loving smile on her face.

Day and Night

Day and night collide.
Sun says goodbye to moon as,
darkness pulls away.

My innocence was taken by rage.

Your influences are practiced

through violence and purple smoke.

Inhale the addiction,

tally up the classmates.

All injuries are made from the sickness

of that burning cigarette.

No strength left to

wield the knife

into my now useless life.

The darkness carries the regret in smoke.

No More than Friends

Friends smile, laugh, cry and motivate.
We fear romance, the splash of a kiss.
But we dove into
the sweet sharing of bliss.
From the time we collided at the party,
drama was spread like a hurricane:
The rumors swirled,
gossip destroyed everything that we shared.
So we brought in relief
And tried to repair what went wrong.
Now we are two broken hearts,
that will always be no more than friends.

Your my Violence

The words you use hurt more than anything,
more than a slap across the face or
hands around my neck.

I watch you yell and breathe fire.
You instill fear in those who love you.
Your yelling chokes me and makes be beg for life.

Then I say something:

“STOP”-

and it drives you over the edge.

Your fingers wrap around my neck,
and tears start to cascade down my face-
a raging waterfall.

I slip away.

As my bare feet race over
the gravel on the road,
the tears blur my vision.

My legs stop running.

My heart keeps pounding.
Sadness takes over
and I fall to the ground.

The tears come harder
now at thought of my return.

Love is a Playground Swing

Love is a playground swing.

Love is full of desire.
You start out slow and then you go higher.
Love sways back and forth, up and down.

Love is the wind in your hair,

Love is cold, hard, and rusty.
Love is the childhood memory,
the broken arm after jumping off.

Love can take your breath away.

Love may be safe but you can never stay long.
Love can’t wait for a sunny day
after a week of rain.

Love is surrounded by smiling faces.

You have to run from love but,
you always make it back.
Love goes higher, higher, and higher.

Love is forever.

…a smiling face that lights up the room
…wagging tails and wet noses
…making mistakes that make you a better person
I am for
…that tune that you can’t get out of your head
…laughing so hard that you start to cry
…the feeling of the cold grass on your bare feet
I am for
…the book you are so into you cannot put down
… playing your music so loud that your neighbors complain
…the sound of the wind chimes
I am for
…sunny; for rainy days
…a clear night sky and staring beyond the stars
…the wind in my hair as we drive down the winding road
I am for
…sitting by the fire on cool summer night thinking of nothing
…the weightless feeling you get after jumping into a pool
…a hot cup of coco on a snowy day that warms you from the inside out
I am for
…that person you can talk to for hours and never have a quiet moment
…that person that knows every word your going to say before you say it
…loving my friends and being loved in return
I am for
…banana cupcakes and the smiles that top them
…bear hugs and a teasing punch in the arm
…being the best and always trying my hardest
I am for
…peace, world peace any or every kind of peace
…lazy days where doing nothing is the right thing to do
…the future and for what’s to come

…dreams and dreaming and hoping mine and yours come true
